Gods Word Is Medicine
Proverbs 4:20-23
“My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
One of the ways that we know that it is Gods perfect will for you to be healed, and to walk in divine health, is that He has proclaimed that His Word is health to all our flesh.
This word “health” here in the Hebrew also means medicine. If we take enough of Gods Word long enough, it will heal our fleshly bodies. In Hebrews 4:12 it says that the Word of God is alive, and full of creative power. What kind of power is Hebrews 4:12 talking about? He is talking about creative yoke destroying power! Isaiah 10:27 says; “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Glory to God, the YOKE shall be DESTROYED. Sickness is a yoke. It weighs you down. It keeps you in bondage. To believe that maybe this sickness is the will of God is to believe a lie straight from the pit of hell. It states very clearly, and boldly here in Proverbs 4, that GODS WORD IS MEDICINE TO ALL OUR FLESH! Gods’ will is healing! He wants YOU FREE!
Sometimes people say; “Okay, I’m going to try this faith healing stuff to see if it works.” And when healing doesn’t come, or stay, they get discouraged, and begin to believe the temporary circumstance, instead of the eternal Word of God. Proverbs 4:20 says; “My son ATTEND to my word--” The word “ATTEND” here means to become joined with, or give your full attention too.
Listen when we are dealing with sickness, disabilities, and any other bodily ailment, we need to become joined with, and give our full attention to Gods Word, instead of allowing our body to become joined with that ailment, and giving that sickness our full attention. We can’t just try the Word, to see if it works.
For example, if a person went to a medical doctor for a bacteria infection, and the medical doctor prescribed an antibiotic that they must take twice daily for 30 days to clear up this infection, it would be really ignorant for this person to only take 5 or 10 pills, for 5 or 6 days. When we take medicine in the natural, we understand that it takes time for it to work. There is a process here to adhere to. The same happens with the medicine of Gods Word. The word “Health” here in Proverbs 4 can also mean recovery, or restoration. The word “recovery” implies a process of time. Just like in the natural, we need to cooperate with the Word of God to receive our healing. Allow His Word to work in your life. Know that for whatever sickness, disease, disability, or illness that the devil has out there to hit you with, Gods Word can overcome and utterly destroy it. Gods Word is medicine to your body. Take some today, and be free from any fear of what the devil might do to you!
