Let's dive into the timeless tale of Christmas as revealed in the Gospel of Luke. I want you to imagine the angel Gabriel's visit to Mary, bearing news of divine favor and an extraordinary destiny.
“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” (Luke 1:28-31)
Notice the angel Gabriel told Mary that she was “BLESSED”. The Blessing of God is literally the “Act” of God loving you. (Gen 1:28) Love empowers people. God’s love empowered her to receive His Promise, develop His promise, and then manifest His promise the world.
The Blessing of God caused Mary to literally conceive God's life within her. This life is the highest quality of life imaginable. God’s life includes no spiritual death, disease, or lack of any kind.
The Word of God, His promise, literally came alive in Mary, and manifested in the flesh. (John 1:14) Imagine being the vessel for the Word of God coming to life! Well guess what? This same principle is available to you and I today.
When you receive God’s Promise in your heart, faith is formed, and His Blessing, His Love goes to work manifesting that Word in your life.
“For with God (with Love) nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)
This my friend is God’s earnest desire for you. This is what Christmas is all about. We are to remember John 3:16; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
That is what Jesus is. He is the expression of God's LOVE to you.
He is the Promise of God. He is THE WORD of God.
God desires you to receive Jesus, His Promise, His Word. You were literally designed to live by His Word, and for His Love. You and I are to be as He is in this world. (1 John 4:15-17)
God’s primary way of giving us His Love, His Blessing, is through His Word. (Gen 1:28) This is what your heart needs. Your heart was created for God's Word; it was created for Jesus. Without God's Word in your heart, your heart is broken. (Luke 4:18) When your heart is broken, His Blessing stops working, and you become separated from His life. (Eph 4:18-17-19)
When you begin hearing God’s Word spoken to you, your heart begins to heal (Psalm 107:20), and faith begins to form. (Romans 10:17) Now this is important because 1 John 5:4 tells us that faith (believing what God said in our hearts) is what overcomes this world.
If you aspire to overcome life's challenges, weather its storms, and relish in God's best, you are going to have to start hearing and then believing God’s promises.
You need His Word, so faith can be formed in your heart. That is when His Blessing can go to work in your life. Faith working by His Love, is designed to prosper you and give you good success in everything.
As 3 John 2 beautifully expresses, God desires above all that you prosper and enjoy health, even as your soul prospers. This Christmas, grasp this profound truth: God, the embodiment of love, desires for you to experience the very best—JESUS!
So, unwrap the ultimate gift—the gift of Jesus this Christmas. Let your faith grow as you soak in the Words of your loving Father and behold His Blessing work wonders in your life.
