Dear Partner and Friends,
Pastor Rory Synoground |
"Consider [Jesus] that endured such contradiction of sinners
against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." (Hebrews 12:3)
Your very life depends on what you focus on. What has your attention? The Word of God
says that we are to look to Jesus, we are to consider Him, not our
circumstances, problems, or the latest gossip that is swirling around our
circles.
Discouragement and weariness try to work their way into our lives
through all the pressures, bad news and gossip that surrounds us every day. It is the very spirit of this world, that
demonic spirit that works in the children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2), that
tries to get our attention off the Word of God by bombarding us with negative
reports and lies.
In 2 Corinthians 4:4 we read; “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image
of God, should shine unto them.” That is Satan’s objective. He is the thief that has come
to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10) He wants you to look at the
storm that you’re in, instead of considering Jesus. If you do this, you
will begin to lose your freedom. You will begin losing strength. You will
be drawn away from the very One Who has delivered you from that storm and has
given you the victory. (James 1:14)
When you don’t focus on Jesus, Who is the Word of God, Hebrews
12:3 tells us that you will "be wearied and faint in your
minds." Jesus put it this way in Mark 4. He said that
when the cares of this world enter your heart, they'll choke His Word and cause
it to become unfruitful in your life. When you allow the cares and anxieties of
this world into your thinking, it will bring with it discouragement and
weariness.
Your faith is the product of the Word God. If you are looking at
the storm, instead of Jesus, Who is the Author, Developer, and Finisher of your
faith, your faith will wither and die, it will become unproductive.
You see faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
In 1 John 5:12 we read where “Faith is the Victory that overcometh
the world.” We need our
faith in order to overcome the storms of life. We need our faith to be in full
operation for us to stand against the strategies of the devil, who roams about
as a roaring lion, seeking whom he can devour (1 Peter
5:8).
We need to keep our attention on Jesus. If we allow the enemy to pull our attention away
from Jesus, from the Word of God, we are headed for disaster.
So what can we do to stop this chain reaction of discouragement
and weariness?
Look to Jesus! Look to the Word of God. When we allow gossip, bad
reports, and cares into our heart, discouragement sets in. We lose strength, we
take on negative attitudes, and weariness begins pulling us away from our
Father. When this happens, we become easily defeated.
Keep your focus on Jesus. He is your hope. He is
your Joy; He is your Redeemer. The word “consider” in Hebrews
12:3 actually means to intensely observe fully, until you understand,
and come into agreement with.
So, to win, to overcome, to do the impossible in life, we must
keep considering Jesus. We must intensely observe Him, until we agree with His
Word in our heart.
Consider Him instead of the cares of this world. Consider what God
has said, instead of what the world is pressuring you into thinking.
Be moved by the thoughts of God, instead of the enemy’s
thoughts. Let Gods thoughts become your thoughts, by keeping your
attention, and focus on Him!
Get your eyes off the circumstances around you and onto your
heavenly source. Do not be afraid you're going to lose everything. God is your
Source, not the world. He can take care of you regardless of what happens
around you.
If you've gotten weary, and discouraged lately, begin to
turn your eyes onto the One who can and will make the difference. He is Faithful.
He is your Freedom; He is your Answer to anything this world attempts to throw
at you. So, look to Jesus, and experience His goodness manifest in your life
today!
Once again, I want to thank you for partnering with us in being a prophetic “Voice of Freedom” to the world. I will continue to pray Psalm 91, Ephesians 1:13-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21 for you and your family as well. I declare you blessed and highly favored of the Lord.
