Have you ever felt like there is just something
missing on the inside, like an emptiness that you just can’t fill?
Many of people just like you are trying
desperately to fill that void, and are finding it almost impossible. There is some good news for you. That emptiness can be filled.
In Genesis
5:1-3 we find out something that is almost too hard to believe. “This
is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day that God created man, in the
likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam,
in the day when they were created. And Adam
lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat
a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:
Look at that for a moment. We read here that God created Adam in His likeness, or like him. Then we see that Adam had a son in his likeness, or like him. If we followed this genealogy, we would eventually get to you and I, and the continued thought here is you and I are made in the likeness of Seth, Adam and God.
So
what does this mean? If you and I are
created in the likeness of God, then we were created to be filled with Gods
life, Gods thoughts, Gods nature, and Gods abilities. You name it we were created to be like Him.
You and I were never created to live outside of the Garden. You and I were never created to be void of God’s Word or God Himself! You were created to be filled with Gods Glory, Gods thoughts, Gods Word, Gods Spirit!
You and I were never created to live outside of the Garden. You and I were never created to be void of God’s Word or God Himself! You were created to be filled with Gods Glory, Gods thoughts, Gods Word, Gods Spirit!
That
emptiness, that void that you’re feeling, is the area in your heart where God
is not abiding. Only He can reside there. Only He can fill that spot. Only He
can meet that need, through faith in Jesus Christ.
