THE PRAYER OF FAITH (PART 3)

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed Him, crying and saying, “Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.” And He was come into the house, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus saith unto them, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” They said unto Him “Yea, Lord.” Then touched He their eyes saying “ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH be it unto you.” And their eyes were opened;--” (Matthew 9:27-30)

To pray the “Prayer of Faith” then, we need to do what the two blind men did. These men sought the Lord for their healing.

The unfortunate fact is some people sit around waiting for God to do something more for them. I want you to notice that the two blind men did not just sit and wait for Jesus to walk over to them and do something. NO! They went to Him.

The Word of God says that when WE draw near to Him, He WILL draw near to us. We must make the first step!

These men also stayed with it. They didn’t quit until they made that connection. They were persistent in seeking the Lord until they were engaged by Him.

Secondly you must understand that just getting in the presence of God does not guarantee that you will experience your need being met. I have been in services where the presence and the power of the Lord was present to heal, and people were getting delivered right and left, yet there were some that did not receive anything at all.

What happen? This is where some people get confused. “If God was present why didn’t I get anything”?

I want you to notice something here, when these two blind men came into the house and were in the presence of Jesus, nothing happened until Jesus finally asked “Do you believe, or do you have faith in Me to do this?”

They could have received their healing before this, but Jesus in His mercy finally helped them along by asking them that question. That’s just like our Lord. He will meet us where we are at and ask us the right question to nudge us and help us in our unbelief.

When they both agreed saying “Yes Lord we do believe,” healing came. It wasn’t until they believed that something happened.

You see the people in these meetings that didn’t receive anything, were not operating in faith. They took the first step by seeking the Lord, yet they did not believe that the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

That’s what these two blind men needed to believe, that He would heal them!

Jesus said in Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and (really) believing, YOU WILL RECEIVE.”

The prayer of faith not only believes that God can, but that He HAS done what He said He would do. When you begin to believe His Word, when you begin to understand His will, when you are in faith, that is the time to receive what you’re asking!

When we approach our Father we should approach Him in faith. Believing that He not only can, but that He will do for us what He said He would do. We must approach Him based on His Word, not our circumstance or problems.

Find out what He has already said in His Word. Build a strong foundation on that Word, on the rock of Jesus Christ. Approach your Father, believing Him, and start receiving all that that He has given you TODAY!

YOU ARE BLESSED
