God has not called us to live an ordinary life controlled by circumstances, fear, or the limitations of this world. He has called us to live a supernatural life, a life of faith where we can receive what He has already promised us. But there is something we must understand.
It is not enough to hear what God has said. We must come to
the place where we can see it by faith and then act upon what we believe.
This is what the Lord has been showing us in our Household of Faith series.
In Matthew 16:16, Peter declared to Jesus, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”. Jesus responded by telling Peter that flesh and blood had not revealed this to him, but His Father in heaven had. Then Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
What was the rock Jesus was referring to? Revelation!
Peter did not discover who Jesus was through natural reasoning. The Father revealed it to him. Something that had previously been hidden was uncovered in his heart. Revelation removed the veil, allowing the Word to form faith within him.
Jesus is still building His people upon that same rock of revelation. He wants to establish something in our hearts that makes us rock solid, immovable, and able to stand against whatever the enemy brings against us.
But how does that
happen?
Look at Joshua and Caleb. When Israel stood at the edge of the Promised Land, God had already declared that the land belonged to them. Yet an entire generation failed to possess what God had promised. They saw the giants, the walled cities, and the circumstances standing against them. Their thinking had been shaped by Egypt, and they could not see how to receive what God had given them.
Joshua and Caleb were different. They believed what God said! And for forty years, while others died in unbelief, these two men continued standing together in faith.
That is why God places us in a Household of Faith. Galatians 6:10 instructs us to do good to everyone, especially those of the household of faith. God never intended for us to live isolated lives. We need brothers and sisters who will stand with us, strengthen us, and encourage us to believe His Word.
God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 to keep His Word in his mouth and meditate upon it day and night so that he could “observe to do according to all that is written in it”. Notice the progression. Joshua was to meditate on the Word until he could observe, or see, what God was saying. Then he was to do it!
This is where many believers struggle. Some continually hear the Word but never act upon it. Others attempt to imitate someone else's actions without first receiving revelation and faith for themselves.
Faith is not simply copying what someone else did. Faith comes from hearing God and acting upon what He has revealed to you.
I shared in this message how Kenneth E. Hagin spent his days reading and meditating on God's Word while confined to his bed with serious physical conditions. He received revelation from Mark 11:23–24 concerning believing and speaking God's Word. But something else happened. As he continued believing, the Lord instructed him to act upon what he believed. He responded to that instruction, and he testified that he was healed.
I have experienced this personally. Following a serious automobile accident, I received healing from a broken neck. Later, when I faced another physical condition that left me unable to walk, I had to hear from God again. I could not simply rely upon yesterday's experience. I needed to receive what God was saying to me and act upon it. Revelation must lead us into a life of doing the Word!
Jesus made this clear in Matthew 7:24–25. He said that whoever hears His sayings and does them is like a wise man who built his house upon a rock. The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not fall because it was founded upon the rock.
Notice that both hearing and doing are necessary. The storms may come, but when we hear the Word, receive revelation, and act upon what we believe, Jesus builds something in us that cannot be shaken.
Partners, this is why your partnership is so important. Through Freedom Christian Fellowship, Healing Hearts Prayer & Counseling Center, Your Voice of Freedom Radio and media, Freedom in Recovery, and Light Christian University, we are helping people hear God's Word, receive revelation, grow in faith, and become doers of the Word.
Your prayers and financial support help us continue reaching people with the Gospel, healing broken hearts, making disciples, and building strong families of faith.
As we continue this journey together, I want to encourage you to stay connected to your Household of Faith. Keep hearing the anointed Word. Meditate upon what God has said until faith is established in your heart. Then begin doing what He has revealed to you.
Thank you for standing with us as we continue together to win souls, make disciples, heal hearts, and build a strong family of faith.
The Prayer Ministers and I will continue to pray Psalm 91, Ephesians 1:13-23 and Ephesians 3:14-21 for you and your family. In the name of Jesus, I declare the 100-fold return on your giving. (Mark 4:8
